Birds - American Coot
Class:Aves Order:Gruiformes Family:Rallidae

American Coot, Fulica americana. Wetland bird, noticable by their bright white bill and all black body. Juveniles are more gray than black. You can tell the Coot is not a duck by their feet. Instead of webbed feet for swimming, the Coot has feet more adept for walking on land.

All species pages are currently being updated with more useful descriptions and information.
