Birds - American Redstart
Class:Aves Order:Passeriformes Family:Parulidae

American Redstart, Setophaga ruticilla. A bold beauty. This warbler uses is flashy coloring to spook insects out of the brush. Males are black and orange with a white belly, females and juveniles are more muted in gray and yellow. Was only able to get one photograph of this Redstart in Leawood, KS. I saw it again the next day but it jumps around like a Kinglet making it difficult to get off a good shot.
