Insects/Bugs/Bees/Butterflies - American Snout
Class:Insecta Order:Lepidoptera Family:Nymphalidae Genus:Libytheana

American Snout (Libytheana carinenta), also known as the Common Snout Butterfly. This guy can be found in both the North and South Americas, and is identifiable by its long "lips". I don't see these butterflies very often, but with that long snout there is no mistaking who it is when they show up. Their wings are brown and orange with white markings.

All species pages are currently being updated with more useful descriptions and information.
