Birds - Black-capped Chickadee
Class:Aves Order:Passeriformes Family:Paridae Genus:Poecile

Black-capped Chickadee, Poecile atricapillus . Adorable chickadee with a black head and bib, and a whitish gray body. They are known for their curiosity and boldness with humans. Older birds can have orange or brown sides. They eat seeds and insects and berries. I often see the Black-capped Chickadees in pairs. The markings on their heads make them look like they have on black toupes and fake beards. They are small, about the size of finches. They streak from tree to tree in an up and down sine wave pattern. They are fearless at the birdfeeder.
