Birds - Common Goldeneye
Class:Aves Order:Anseriformes Family:Anatidae Genus:Bucephala


Common Goldeneye, Bucephala clangula. These ducks are named for their yellow eyes. The males are very distinct from the females. The have a glossy green head, black back and white underside while the females' heads are brown and their bodies are gray. These Common Goldeneyes were photographed by Nick Varvel and John McConnell.
