Birds - Forster's Tern

Forster's Tern, Sterna forsteri. A tern is a seabird that lives, feeds and breeds near and in the water. They dive from flight for fish under the water. Forster's Tern is mostly found in North America and has a distinctive black patch over the eye and ear. Nick Varvel photographed this Forster's Tern at Hillsdale Reservoir and Heritage Park.
