Greater Prairie-Chicken, Tympanuchus cupido. Also known as the Pinnated Grouse. The Prairie Chicken is declining in numbers due to habitat loss. They are beautiful birds with an extravagent breeding dance ritual known as Booming. The males have orange over the eyes and an inflatable area in the neck that is also bright orange.
