Insects/Bugs/Bees/Butterflies - Hummingbird Clearwing Moth
Class:Insecta Order:Lepidoptera Family:Sphingidae Genus:Hemaris

Never saw these before in my life until we planted a garden. They are mesmerizing. People often mistake them for hummingbirds or bumblebees. The Hummingbird Moth has clear wings with burgandy edging. They also have two burgandy bands around their greenish/yellow body. They disappeared from my garden in the late summer.

All species pages are currently being updated with more useful descriptions and information.
