Birds - Long-tailed Duck
Class:Aves Order:Anseriformes Family:Anatidae Genus:Clangula

Long-tailed Duck, Clangula hyemalis. As with many species, this bird is named for one of its most prominent features - the male's long, curled up tail. The species exhibits sexual dichromatism, meaning the males and females are very different in coloring. They hang out in flocks and eat waterlife. The duck pictured is probably a juvenile.

All species pages are currently being updated with more useful descriptions and information.
