Birds - Mute Swan
Class:Aves Order:Anseriformes Family: Anatidae

Mute Swan, Cygnus olor. Large and beautifully white, the Mute Swan is not a Native North American. They were brought to decorate ponds, but have bred wild populations in areas of the U.S. As the name suggests, this species tends to be less vocal than other swans. The Mute Swan is a very large, flying bird and can reach 5 feet in length! This white swan had an orange bill and a black mask like a Cedar Waxwing.

All species pages are currently being updated with more useful descriptions and information.
