Birds - Pectoral Sandpiper
Class:Aves Order:Charadriiformes Family:Scolopacidae Genus:Calidris

Pectoral Sandpiper, Calidris melanotos. A brown and white scalloped wading bird. They build their nests underground. They have relatively long legs and beaks for standing and feeding in shallow water. They can be found around the KC area during their migration. Pectoral Sandpiper photographed by Nick Varvel.
