Birds - Prothonotary Warbler
Class:Aves Order:Passeriformes Family:Parulidae


Prothonotary Warbler, Protonotaria citrea. Gorgeous little yellow birds with an olive colored upper back and gray wings. It is named for the robes worn by clerks of the Roman Catholic Church. These Prothonotary Warblers were photographed by Nick Varvel in Kansas during the summer and by Ashli Ahrens in Arkansas during the spring.
