Birds - Ring-necked Duck
Class:Aves Order:Anseriformes Family:Anatidae Genus:Aythya


Ring-necked Duck, Aythya collaris. This small-medium diving duck can be seen in small ponds during migration. The males are a beautiful black with gray sides. The females are brown and gray. Their blue-gray bills have a white ring around the end before ending in black. John McConnell and Nick Varvel photographed these Ring-necked Ducks. Nick found his at Heritage Park in October.
